# How to create a geofence/area notification

**Note:** This feature is **not available** on the **Starter Plan**. If you would like access, please contact your account manager.

Once you have created geofences/areas, you can set up notifications based on those areas. If you haven’t created an area yet, please refer to this guide:

1. Click on the **gear icon (Configuration)**.

2. Select **Notifications**.

3. Scroll to the **Areas** section.

4. Click on one of the **area notification options**.

5. Click **New Notification.**

6. Enter a **Title** for the notification.

7. Under **Vehicles**, specify whether the notification applies to all vehicles or select vehicles.

8. Under **Areas**, specify whether the notification applies to all areas or select areas.

9. For this example, select **Areas**.

10. Choose the **specific area(s)** for this notification.

11. Check the **weekend option** if you want the notification to trigger on **Saturday and Sunday**.

12. Select the **Notification Type**

13. Choose the **Recipients** for this notification. ****

14. (Optional) Add any **additional email addresses or phone numbers** for recipients who are not current users.

15. Click **Save**.
