# How to update vehicle odometer

## A step-by-step guide for the Linxio platform

###### Use this when a vehicle's odometer in Linxio doesn't match its dashboard, such as after installing, swapping or replacing a device.

## **1. Open Fleet**

In the left-hand menu, click **Fleet**. The main **Fleet** tab lists every vehicle along with its current **Odometer** reading.

## **6. Enter the reading and save changes**
* **Actual value:** type the reading shown on the vehicle's dashboard, in km.
* **Read date:** fills in as the current date and time. Change it if the reading was taken earlier.
* Click **Save**. The vehicle's mileage now continues from the new reading.

## **Tips**
* Enter the reading while the vehicle is **stopped**. The correction window asks for this so the correction is accurate.
* Click **History** next to the Mileage field to see past corrections.
* Engine hours are updated the same way, using the pencil next to **Engine Hours (GPS), h**.
