How to use Video Playback module for FT Cloud

Video Playback module for Vision 3.0/Lite Dashcams on FT Cloud



NOTE: Before proceeding with the below, please ensure the device is online or active denoted by the green circle icon next to the device name. Attempting to access this feature while the device is in sleep mode (Yellow coloured circle) or offline (grey) will result in an error and or limit what type of playback is available.

NOTE: Recorded footage on the SD card will eventually be overwritten once the SD card runs out of space therefore, if there is any urgent videos that need to be clipped and downloaded it must be actioned immediately to ensure this recording is available. The duration of how long historical footage is kept on the SD card depends on how often the vehicle is used, how often the camera records and the size of the SD Card.

To access the “ Video Playback ” feature on FT Cloud, we first need to click on the “Evidence” Module from the list on the left-hand side to expand additional options where we can select it. There are 2 other options in the “Evidence” module which are:

Video Library: Any clipped video footage will be saved and accessible on the cloud here.

Alarm: Alarms or alerts which have been triggered and recorded will be stored here for viewing.

Proceed to click on Video Playback to continue further.

Next, you’ll need to select a vehicle from your list and then select a date. The calendar will be colour coded and has icons to indicate what type of playback is available for that day.

Once the specified vehicle is selected, you can click on the date field which should bring the calendar into view per the below screenshot which you can proceed to select a date.

On the bottom of the calendar is the legend which describes what type of playback is available on those specific days:

Fully coloured in box - Video is available only in the form of triggered alarm and alert footage for that day.

Coloured box with a white corner - Video playback footage is available for that day.

Blank box - Video footage is no longer available instead, picture mode is available which will display photo images of vehicle activity only.

If the above steps are done correctly, it should look like the below screenshot.

The playback bar will indicate any available footage that was recorded for that time and clicking the “play” button will allow you to watch it as a playback.

The “ arrow” button beneath the play button can be clicked which will expand 2 additional options which are:

CH: Allows you to check the duration of recording for each channel and whether there’s any discrepancies.

Speed Curve: Clicking on this allows you to enable the speed curve to see the speed of the vehicle throughout the day their vehicle was used and when the device was actively recording.

By default, the system will bring the map view up on the right hand side which will display the vehicle’s trips recorded for that day, when playing back footage, the green car icon will move along the route to indicate its trip. You can minimise the map component by clicking on the white “ arrow” button to allow full screen of the media player.

There are other miscellaneous options located on the bottom right hand side of the media player above the time line which allows you to change how many channels you want displayed at a time when viewing, increasing, decreasing or muting volume/sound, Fullscreen and minimizing the option of the media player.

How to clip and download video footage



From the “ Video Playback” module, proceed with all the steps listed above with selecting the desired vehicle and date.

Once the video has been loaded, click on the blue “ Clip” icon circled in red per the below screenshot, this will put you in editing mode.

From here, we recommend that you input the “ Start Time” in the provided field for ease of use then you can set the time length or duration of footage to be played from the start time. The maximum duration for a clipped video is 10 minutes so please plan accordingly when using this feature to ensure its maximum use.

You can manually adjust the start time and its duration by interacting with the orange arrow slider on the video playback time line if that is your preference and underneath the time line you can zoom in and out the timeline to have a better view of what has been recorded at what times.

Once you have set up your preferences, proceed to clicking the “ Confirm” button in blue

You can make your final adjustments here, whether it's to adjust the start time, duration of the video, edit the video name according to whatever you like however, leave all other settings as default then click “Confirm” once done.

If completed correctly, you’ll receive a confirmation from the platform that your request will be processed.

You can check the status of your clipped videos by accessing the “ Video Library” module to check the “ In progress”, “ Waiting” or “ Fail” tabs shown below:

If the request has been successfully processed you can view the video clip by clicking on the “ Completed” tab. You can now proceed to download the video file by clicking on the folder icon with the arrow pointing downwards, once clicked a notification prompt will appear advising you its being preparing for download in your “ Download Center”.

To access the " Download Center”, you’ll need to access your “ Personal Center” by clicking on the icon located on the top right-hand corner of the platform shown below:

A pop-up should appear and simply navigate to the “ Download Center” located on the left-hand side list, similar to the video library your request will take time to process before appearing in the " Success” so you can monitor its progress by clicking on the other tabs.

Once completed, simply go back to the “ Success” tab, locate your file name and click on the download button underneath the “ Operation” column.
