Pairing a GPS Device to a vehicle profile

Introduction

Once you have physically installed a GPS device into your vehicle, the next step is to pair the GPS device with a vehicle profile in the Linxio application. This can be done using either the Linxio mobile app or the desktop web app.

Method 1: Using the Linxio Mobile App

Step 1: Login to the Linxio App

Open the Linxio app on your mobile phone.
Log in with your credentials.

Step 2: Install the GPS Device

Click the Settings icon in the bottom toolbar.
Select Device Installation.
Click Install a new device.
Enter the device IMEI manually or scan the barcode.
Click Search, and once the device is found, click Continue.

Step 3: Pair the Device with a Vehicle Profile

Enter the RegNo of the vehicle and click Search.
If the vehicle profile does not exist, click + Add new vehicle.
Fill in the vehicle profile details.
Click Continue.

Step 4: Finalize Installation

Take a photo of where you have mounted the device in the vehicle.
Click Install & Check Status.
Click Complete & Sign off.

Method 2: Using the Desktop Web App

Step 1: Create a Vehicle Profile

Click on the Fleet icon in the left toolbar (represented by a vehicle icon).
Click Add new vehicle.
Complete the vehicle profile by filling in at least the mandatory fields:

Type
Vehicle Title (e.g., fleet number

Understanding the Wiring

Wiring

Power Connections:

Wire 6 - Orange → Connects to a power source that is only active when the engine is running ( ACC power). This helps detect when the vehicle is on.
Wire 7 - Black (PGND) → Connects to the vehicle's ground.
Wire 8 - Red → Connects to a constant power source ( +7V to +60V DC). This ensures the device stays powered at all times.

Inputs & Outputs:

Blue (DIN 2 - RPM) → Likely reads engine RPM signals.
Brown (DOUT 1) → A digital output, possibly used to control external devices.
Black (DGND) → Digital ground for signal connections.
Green (DIN1 - SOS) → A digital input, possibly for an emergency or SOS button.
Yellow (DOUT 0) → Another digital output.
Orange (DIN 0 - ACC) → Digital input to detect ignition status.

Analog Inputs:

White & Grey (AIN2 / DIN4 - 0-32V input) → Can measure a voltage between 0-32V or be used as a digital input.
Pink (AIN2 / DIN5 - 0-32V input) → Another voltage measurement input.
Black (AGND) → Analog ground, used for sensor connections.

Connect the Red wire to a constant power source (battery or fuse box).

Troubleshooting the TR500 (all models)

Ensure that the device is correctly wired up based on the following:

No LED lights on at all
Check that the device is getting at least 12V power.
Check the fuse is not blown on either the device wiring, or the vehicles fuse box. If a fuse is blown, replace it and check again.
Disconnect the power to the tracker, wait 1 minute, then reconnect
LED lights are not solid after 5 minutes
Make sure the engine is on, and there is power coming to both constant and ignition.
Make sure you are installing this device into a vehicle that is outside, and not inside a building that could block the GPS signal to the device.
Make sure the sim card is properly inserted.
